Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure unified action within USINDOPACOM and supporting organizations to develop joint training concepts supporting the Joint Training and Exercise Campaign Plan, including Field Training Exercises (FTX), Command-Post Exercises (CPX), and training support activities.
  • Support the USINDOPACOM J75 by maintaining a deliberate plan of action with milestones for the Joint Training Plan and producing required orders, briefings, and planning deliverables.
  • Create solutions to complex problems and apply operational art in an uncertain geostrategic security environment to support a training campaign aligned with the USINDOPACOM Campaign Plan and joint exercises.
  • Coordinate with staff and other organizations, including Joint Staff J7 and service components.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain protocols, processes, and procedures in support of USINDOPACOM J7 planning activities.
  • Support exercise work group planning meetings and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) with senior leaders.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to the Joint Training Plan and related orders and documents.
  • Produce orders or directives to guide training and exercise planning.
  • Travel internationally up to 10% of the year to support planning and execution of exercises.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I completed or experience on a joint operational/strategic headquarters staff in lieu of JPME Phase I.
  • Knowledge of the Joint Training Exercise and Evaluation Program (JTEEP), Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), and associated requirements for planning and executing FTX and CPX.
  • Proven experience supporting projects with strict timelines as an analyst.
  • Experience in training and exercise planning with US Armed Services, including joint assignments at operational/strategic levels and working with Allies and Partner countries.
  • Experience in planning and managing complex tasks under tight time constraints.
  • Active SECRET clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be a current US Citizen.
