About the Role

The CarelonRx Account Manager II is a client-facing role responsible for retention and operational excellence within a complex book of business. The position involves building relationships with clients, influencing internal partners, executing operational deliverables, managing contractual obligations, leveraging data for account performance, supporting implementation and renewals, and mentoring staff. The role is part of Elevance Health's CarelonRx division, which leverages technology and a clinical-first approach to deliver member-centered pharmacy care. The position requires in-office presence 1-2 days per week with flexibility, and may consider alternate locations within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivates and builds relationships with broker, consultant, and client key decision makers through quality service.
  • Influences and collaborates with internal partners to deliver best-in-class service, resolve operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive recovery efforts to influence account retention and growth.
  • Executes client-specific operational deliverables including benefit setup, reporting, and project support as needed.
  • Implements and manages contractual obligations such as performance guarantees and rebate strategies.
  • Leverages data to track account performance, identify trends, and recommend strategies for client growth and retention.
  • Supports implementation for new and existing clients and contract renewals.
  • Trains and mentors lower-level Account Management staff.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in account management, sales, or managing business/client relationships.
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Travel may be required.

Nice to Have

  • PBM experience preferred.
  • Account Management experience preferred.
  • Client facing experience preferred.

  • Educational background as specified (BA/BS or equivalent).
