About the Role

Permanent position for a West Coast Sales Manager responsible for technical sales of specialty chemicals. This is a remote / travel position with a global specialty chemical manufacturer for various applications including coatings, adhesives, and construction materials. Responsible for new business development by researching and developing new customers and markets. Grow existing $3-4 million customer base by at least 25% within 1-3 years. Use value added selling and negotiating skills to close sales. Show a sense of urgency by responding to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for technical sales of specialty chemicals to various markets including coatings, adhesives, and construction materials.
Research and develop new customers and markets to generate new business.
Grow existing customer base of $3-4 million by at least 25% within 1-3 years.
Use value added selling and negotiating skills to close sales.
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner, demonstrating a sense of urgency.

Requirements

BS Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in performance or specialty chemicals sales to the coatings, construction or adhesives markets.
Excellence in negotiating with a strong sense of urgency.
Resides in the Western US (Nevada, California, or Arizona).
Ability to travel up to 60%, including up to 2 weeks/month of overnight travel.
