About the Role

Waters is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Chemistry Field Sales Account Manager based in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The role involves selling Waters chemistry product lines within an assigned geographic territory, including HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and SFC columns, sample prep products, automation products, standards, vials, and other consumables. The position requires developing a territorial business plan, working with sales and marketing colleagues, and understanding customer needs to design impactful solutions. Waters is a global leader in analytical instruments, separations technologies, and software, serving various sciences for over 65 years, with a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Maintain and grow installed base customer satisfaction
  • Aggressively develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
  • Visit customers and prospects daily to understand needs and challenges and highlight Waters solutions
  • Build technical competence on Waters solutions and be perceived as a valued business partner by customers
  • Keep current on market dynamics, application trends, and competitive landscape
  • Become an active member of the local scientific community to understand customer needs and promote Waters solutions
  • Provide feedback to marketing team to create business development programs
  • Fully utilize sales contact management tools and applications
  • Submit accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts

Requirements

  • Minimum of BS/BA in chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience using LC and/or LC/MS instruments
  • Practical sales experience is an advantage
  • Overnight travel is required
  • Action oriented and self-driven for results
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good listener
  • Mature disposition, positive attitude, and strong sense of commitment
  • Adaptive to dynamic and changing environment

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience with LC and/or LC/MS instruments
