We have more than 6,400 employees and associates in our partner dental practices and operate nationwide. The Client Relationship Executive (CRE) is responsible for the overall relationship and financial management of a portfolio of group benefit clients for the employer segment 100-1,999 enrolled employees. This role is a key account management and revenue generating position focused on internal and external partnerships, long-term growth, and persistency, representing the full range of employer and employee-paid Sun Life products and services to the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with brokers and plan sponsors for their benefit plans by providing end-to-end business solutions, education, and service.
  • Collaborates with SLF personnel, including sales, support, service, and management resources, to meet customer expectations.
  • Proactively provides value-added solutions while meeting growth and persistency objectives and managing customer expectations.
  • Meets assigned targets for growth (including cross-sell) and persistency.
  • Develops and maintains a business plan focusing on block management, growth, and development.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs and proposes innovative solutions.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with internal service departments to oversee issue resolution and solution creation.
  • Participates in Finalist presentations, representing Sun Life’s account management and service value story.
  • Partners and collaborates with territory EBR to ensure mutual understanding of goals and objectives.
  • Works with Implementation Consultants to ensure seamless onboarding and address questions proactively.
  • Displays integrity through transparency, honest dealings, and well-controlled emotions.
  • Builds and fosters productive relationships with sales and home office partners based on trust and open dialogue.
  • Organizes and prioritizes daily/weekly work to meet business activity goals and customer needs.
  • Communicates effectively with customers on how to work with Sun Life to foster self-service capabilities.
  • Establishes a proactive contact strategy and develops company, product, and self-positioning statements for growth.

Requirements

  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Effective listening skills, including note-taking and active listening.
  • Proven client management and relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates resilience and maintains poise in changing situations.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to develop and execute a client relationship management strategy.
  • Adept at project management and multi-tasking.

  • Self-starter capable of working independently and within a team.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of product pricing, profitability, and risk/underwriting rules.
  • 4-5 years of industry experience, preferably in Employee Benefits or Group Benefit design.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Current insurance license or ability to obtain immediately.
  • Basic understanding of competitor products.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Employee Benefit industry and Group Benefit design.
  • Knowledge of competitor products.

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of industry experience, preferably in Employee Benefits or Group Benefit design.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Must hold current insurance license or have the ability to obtain immediately.
