About the Role

The Commercial Lines Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing operational activities within the department to ensure consistent service standards and professionalism. The role involves handling a book of business, performing essential functions aligned with USI's best practices, risk management, and quality control standards, and may include managerial responsibilities overseeing a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in coordinating the inside service of new and existing clients through sales, account development, and problem solving in accordance with USI Core Values and Standards.
  • Understand and contribute to the USI ONE Advantage, Stewardship process, and deliverables via the OMNI engine, participating in strategy meetings.
  • Respond to client requests for information, documents, and general insurance inquiries, handling all aspects of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Occasionally conduct outside service visits to clients.
  • Maintain quality control of renewal expirations to prevent coverage lapses and ensure timely renewals.
  • Monitor adherence to service standards through KPI reporting and produce monthly reports on policy renewals, invoicing, open items, workloads, and backlog.
  • Identify, plan, and resolve routine department coverage and workload issues, taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Perform periodic quality audits as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent client files, ensuring proper documentation and communication according to company workflows and best practices.
  • Manage a team of two or more employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance reviews, and development.
  • Handle department issues, set priorities, develop work plans, and approve expense reports.
  • Perform other projects or duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance Agency with comprehensive understanding of coverage, underwriting, and rating concepts.
  • High School Graduate; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a state Property & Casualty insurance license within an agreed timeframe.
  • Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, CPCU or willingness to pursue further industry education.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with multiple variables.
  • Comfort with internet-based programs and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and high accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage workflow, and ensure timely, accurate processing of transactions.

Nice to Have

  • Prior managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • State Property & Casualty insurance license or willingness to obtain one.
