About the Role

Workstream is a mission-driven company building the all-in-one HR, payroll, and hiring platform for managing the hourly workforce. The company aims to serve the 2.7 billion hourly workers worldwide, providing better technology solutions for underserved markets. Backed by leading VCs and industry experts, Workstream is a high-growth Series B startup focused on expanding its product portfolio and establishing itself as a go-to brand for restaurant owners and operators. The role of Content Leader involves shaping and scaling the company's content ecosystem to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and demand, particularly within the restaurant and hospitality sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the vision by defining the long-term content strategy aligned with business goals and brand storytelling.
  • Engineer scalable workflows for video, blog, social, and thought leadership content powered by AI, automation, and data.
  • Build and manage a team of creators, editors, and freelancers while fostering a 'content engineer' culture.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to create thought leadership content, ghostwrite narratives, and amplify executive voices.
  • Drive multi-channel distribution across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms to ensure a cohesive brand presence.
  • Establish KPIs, analyze performance, and continuously refine strategies to maximize content impact.
  • Champion new formats, tools, and workflows to stay ahead of content trends and increase reach.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in content marketing, social media, or brand storytelling with proven experience in setting strategy and scaling content operations.
  • Experience building and scaling content engines, not just campaigns.
  • Track record of growing audiences on video-first platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire, mentor, and manage teams or agencies.
  • Experience working directly with executives to craft thought leadership and brand narratives.
  • Data-driven mindset with fluency in AI and automation tools.
  • Passion for restaurants, hospitality, or small business entrepreneurship (bonus).
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to be based in the Bay Area offices 5 days per week.

Nice to Have

  • Content samples and/or a link to a portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in or around restaurants, hospitality, or small business entrepreneurship is a bonus.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, and vision, with premiums paid by the company.
  • In-office amenities and stocked kitchen.
  • 401K Plan.
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits.
  • Learning and development stipend.
  • Unlimited PTO.

The company is dedicated to empowering deskless workers and local businesses, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes full inclusion of all qualified individuals. Employees have the opportunity to work directly with leadership, shape industry-shaping content, and be part of a fast-growing startup with a mission-driven focus.
