About the Role

The UX Content Strategist will drive creation of the right content solutions, ensuring that digital experiences are relevant, organized and meaningful. The person will develop plans for how content should be developed and managed. This person will champion the customer by driving the development of the information they need, when and how they need it, in a trusted voice that makes them feel understood and empowered. Content Strategists work side by side with UX strategists, UX/UI designers, UX researchers, developers and product leaders to create desirable and compelling user experiences. This position is hybrid but is open to remote. In-office will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in NYC. The role involves embedding with cross-functional teams, defining content strategy, developing content plans, contributing to information architecture, advocating for meaningful content relationships, upholding brand voice, creating messaging strategies, ensuring content implementation, and measuring content effectiveness using data and customer feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed with cross-functional teams to define the content strategy to improve user experiences and execute against their strategic priorities.
  • Drive the definition of a clear and actionable strategic direction for development and management of content for the product based on user insights and business priorities.
  • Develop plans for content, contribute to information architecture and navigation decisions, create taxonomies and content models as needed.
  • Advocate for how content can be used to create lasting and meaningful relationships with users.
  • Uphold brand and tone of voice integration and evolution as needed.
  • Create messaging strategies and outlines.
  • Create content appropriate for the user personas.
  • Ensure that content is implemented to deliver against the strategy, driving development of crisp, compelling user interface copy for wireframes, prototypes and other assets, delivering a consistent end-to-end experience.
  • Use data and customer feedback to measure the effectiveness of the content strategy and pivot as needed.

Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with best practices for organizing and tagging content and understanding how to efficiently structure content for copywriters and authors.
  • Analytical skills for interpreting user research and analytics to inform content ideas.
  • Understanding of human-centered design principles and passion to contribute to design projects.
  • Passion for storytelling and the ability to review, edit and recognize quality content—copy and creative assets.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-functional team and act as a strategic partner in product decisions.
  • Experience working in iterative processes and in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within multi-functional teams.
  • Strong record of success in working on complex, multi-dimensional programs.
  • Ability to take initiative, think strategically, connect dots across multiple threads and drive results.
  • Proficiency in design and collaboration tools such as Adobe XD Cloud, Figma, Miro, etc.
  • 6+ years of experience in content strategy working with websites, apps and email.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with information architecture and navigation decisions.
  • Experience with taxonomies and content models.
  • Familiarity with data-driven content measurement.
