About the Role

The Customer Accounts Manager at Aaron's drives the success of the stores by leading the customer accounts department with the primary goal of achieving company standards for collections and lease renewals. The role involves strategically influencing team performance to help customers achieve their ownership goals and supporting operational functions under the direction of the General Manager. This position requires strong leadership, relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks related to customer accounts and store operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attain and maintain customers' accounts by updating customer information in the store computer system and documenting all customer payment appointments.
  • Assist the General Manager with operational functions including account recommendations, payment frequency, and payment history to monitor accuracy.
  • Build authentic customer relationships to support customers in their ownership goals and drive sales.
  • Manage the collections process by counseling customers to gain timely lease/merchandise renewals.
  • Review and close lease agreements, including confirming customer identification, collecting money, and obtaining customer signatures.
  • Contact customers who have not renewed merchandise agreements.
  • Maintain customer contact over the phone and through home visits.
  • Update customer information and maintain accuracy.
  • Manage entire accounts staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly accounts department goals.
  • Clean and certify merchandise in the cleaning station for all merchandise personally returned.
  • Complete and maintain weekly vehicle maintenance sheet and route sheets daily.
  • Load, secure, and protect product in the company vehicle.
  • Safely operate the company vehicle.
  • Assist the Sales Team as needed.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, multi-tasking, organizational, and negotiation/persuasion skills.
  • Ability to connect and relate well to people, demonstrate empathy, listen attentively, and navigate difficult conversations.
  • Ability to manage customer accounts and operational functions effectively.
  • Capability to operate a company vehicle safely.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including cleaning merchandise and maintaining vehicle and route sheets.
