About the Role

The Customer Accounts Manager at Aaron's drives the success of the stores by leading the customer accounts department with the primary goal of achieving company standards for collections and lease renewals. The role involves strategically influencing team performance to help customers achieve their ownership goals and supporting operational functions under the direction of the General Manager. Customer Account Managers connect with people, demonstrate empathy, and build strong personal relationships while managing various job functions to contribute to store success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attain and maintain customers' accounts by updating customer information in the store computer system and documenting all customer payment appointments.
  • Assist the General Manager with operational functions including account recommendations, payment frequency, and payment history to monitor accuracy.
  • Support the General Manager in building authentic customer relationships to promote ownership goals and drive sales.
  • Manage the collections process by counseling customers to gain timely lease/merchandise renewals.
  • Review and close lease agreements, including confirming customer identification, collecting money, and obtaining customer signatures.
  • Contact customers who have not renewed merchandise agreements.
  • Maintain customer contact via phone and home visits, and update customer information for accuracy.
  • Manage entire accounts staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly department goals.
  • Clean and certify merchandise in the cleaning station for all returned merchandise.
  • Complete and maintain weekly vehicle maintenance and route sheets daily.
  • Load, secure, and protect product in company vehicle, operate the vehicle safely.
  • Assist the Sales Team as needed.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management.

Requirements

  • United States: at least 21 years old with a valid state Driver's License and satisfactory MVR (driving record).
  • Canada: at least 18 years old.
  • Must meet DOT requirements to obtain certification in required states (United States).
  • Ability to work a schedule of hours varying from 8 am to 9 pm.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without help and up to 300 lbs. with assistance of a dolly.
  • Two years of college or two years of previous management experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High energy with the ability to perform all store functions and multitask effectively.
  • Proper telephone etiquette.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the Aaron's brand.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle safely.

Nice to Have

  • Two years of college or two years of previous management experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Two years of college or management experience (preferred).
