About the Role

Freddie Mac is seeking a talented and motivated Senior data architect to join their data team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing new paradigms for a cloud-native data ecosystem. The position involves leveraging data modeling, data architecture, and data engineering skills to build innovative solutions that drive efficiency and enhance business capabilities. The role contributes to Freddie Mac's mission of Making Home Possible by supporting data management and governance initiatives that improve the data consumer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Support design and implementation of the enterprise data platform (Nexus) that includes multiple data ingestion, storage, and consumption patterns
Support enterprise initiatives for Nexus solution to meet their ingestion and consumption requirements
Ensure designed solutions are optimal and robust by researching and identifying issues during incubation stages and meeting data governance requirements
Evaluate and recommend new technologies for the enterprise data platform to meet different ingestion and consumption patterns
Collaborate with Stakeholders to understand business requirements and communicate them to data architects, engineering, and platform teams to develop optimal and robust solutions
Coordinate with management on issue identification, escalation, and remediation
Assist with weekly and monthly metrics and reporting, and stakeholder meeting materials

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
Typically has 5 - 7 years related experience in data architecture, data engineering, data management, and/or data science projects in the Financial Services industry
Strong understanding and experience with Cloud technologies such as Informatica (IDMC/IICS), Kafka, Dremio, GraphQL, AWS, Snowflake, and MongoDB
Experience in gathering requirements, data modeling, designing, and developing data-centric solutions
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to influence outcomes
Ability to understand different perspectives
Deep curiosity to learn about new cloud data management trends and improve processes
Strong consultation and communication skills
Ability to work and collaborate across different teams

Nice to Have

Experience working in a diverse workplace
Experience in the Financial Services industry

Qualifications

5 or more years' experience in data architecture, data engineering, data management, and/or data science projects
Experience with cloud data management tools and technologies
