Data Management Analyst

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic consultant on data management initiatives, providing expertise across data governance, quality, and remediation.
• Collaborate with data product, technology, and business teams to define and implement standards for data flow, access, documentation, and integrity.
• Lead the resolution of complex data challenges through advanced analysis, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
• Provide guidance to senior leadership on data management best practices and innovative solutions.
• Conduct requirements gathering and data analysis to support business objectives.
• Document data flows, process flows, and data lineage; support data control governance and issue remediation.
• Write clear and actionable business requirements using JIRA in an Agile environment.
• Translate pseudo-SQL and legacy queries into business and technical requirements.
• Coordinate work efforts and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management, or equivalent experience through consulting, military service, or education.
• Proven experience in business and data analysis, with a strong understanding of the requirements analysis lifecycle.
• Strong foundational knowledge of relational databases (RDBMS).
• Experience with SQL and tools such as Teradata and Google Cloud Platform BigQuery.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage data quality, validation, and integration efforts.
