About the Role

The Data Quality Assurance Lead at Great American Insurance Group is responsible for overseeing data testing processes within the P&C IT Services team. The role involves leading a small team, ensuring quality in ETL and data warehouse validation, and working in a hybrid schedule out of the Cincinnati office. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in ETL, Snowflake, Python, and test automation in data testing.
  • Perform moderately complex test case and procedure development, test management functions, and tasks.
  • Analyze requirements, test coverage, and impact of proposed requirement changes.
  • Conduct peer reviews of test artifacts.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of employees and contractors.
  • Create, design, and execute test plans and test cases covering ETL processes and Data Warehouse validation.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand business use cases and develop data testing strategies.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in their end-to-end testing process.
  • Work on continuous process improvements.
  • Champion quality improvement across the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Participate as an agile development team member, creating and testing product increments.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10+ years of experience in ETL testing and BI testing.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in leading a team.
  • Experience in creating and analyzing SQL, from simple to complex.
  • Knowledge of database objects and relational data models.
  • Good understanding of various database technologies such as DB2, Teradata, Oracle 10g/11g, SQL Server, Big Data/Hadoop.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments like MS Azure, IICS, Snowflake.
  • Exposure to Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, Hive, Toad Data Point, etc.
  • Experience with data automation validation tools like Informatica DVO, Katalon, and Python (preferred).
  • Experience in executing functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Good understanding of agile testing processes, test strategy planning, and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.

  • Knowledge of the insurance domain.

Qualifications

  • Formal experience in ETL and BI testing.
  • Leadership experience in managing testing teams.
