About the Role

H&amp;R Block is seeking a Business/Quality Analyst for Data Management and Acquisition team in Strategy &amp; Operations practice. This role involves ensuring high-quality data and reports are delivered to senior leaders and business stakeholders to support decision-making. The position can be remote or local and is part of a company with a long history of leadership in tax preparation, financial services, and small business solutions, emphasizing an inclusive, connected culture focused on transformation and extraordinary results.

Key Responsibilities

Focus on data quality and ensure the Analytics teams can consume data with minimal validation required.
Enhance and maintain a repository / knowledge base on data element access.
Cross reference and validate source data elements (e.g., in JSON) with reporting and analytics data marts to ensure data quality.
Interact with Business Stakeholders, Data Scientists, and the technology team.
Pull ad hoc data reports for Business Partners.
Create unit tests for deployments and give signoff.
Apply tools and techniques to automate testing of data sources.
Identify any defects / data gaps and partner with technology partners to resolve.
Work on large data sets using Azure SQL DB.
Be customer-centric, curious, a problem solver, and better together.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
Expert knowledge in Azure SQL DB.
Exposure to Data governance/Data Catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Purview, etc.).
Strong experience in both manual and automated testing procedures.
Hands-on experience in ADO/DevOps - Creating Stories, queries, and dashboards.
Exposure to Data bricks, Python, and working with Hive tables is a plus.
Effective Oral, Written and Interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
