Job Description

About the Role

Equifax has a newly created Data Steward also known as a Data Product Owner role open due to growth in our Atlanta office. The Data Steward / Data Product Owner position is a high-performing role in support of data management functions for a particular data domain within USIS. This individual will work within a team of data owners who serve as subject matter experts for the data sources, to ensure the appropriate quality, metadata management and internal and external support are in accordance with our service level commitments. Candidates should be courageous, tenacious, creative, optimistic and curious, with an appetite for growth in business-minded leadership. This role is located in Atlanta, Georgia (Midtown office) and requires being in the office 3 days/week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This position does not offer immigration sponsorship (current or future) including F-1 STEM OPT extension support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands processes within the data pipeline, supports at least 1 or more key processes within the data product pipeline.
  • Participates in and contributes to initiatives that improve business use of the data.
  • Understands one or more data product requirements (discoverability, accessibility, trustworthiness, privacy, self-describability, interoperability, and security), and supports implementation of a supporting practice with other groups.
  • Creates communication materials about the data product.
  • Understands key data product financial metrics, suggests optimization efforts.
  • Participates in new data product initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline; Master's Degree strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of analysis, product management, and/or consulting experience regarding data, preferably financial services data.
  • Familiarity with cloud and on prem technologies, structured and unstructured data, streaming and reposed data.
  • Familiarity with SQL and BI Tools (Looker, BigQuery, Tableau, etc.) and desktop application suites (Microsoft or Google).
  • Cloud certification strongly preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud and on-prem technologies, structured and unstructured data, streaming and reposed data.
  • A strong sense of governance protocols, the need to respect highly sensitive data and proactive attention to regulatory, security and compliance driven policies.
  • Demonstrates leadership with cross-functional efforts; develops effective working relationships with peers, managers, and senior management within and across organizational lines.
  • The ability to manage multiple high-impact projects at the same time.
  • Creativity and drive, coupled with a desire to grow in thought leadership, initiative and strategic thinking.
  • Experience with Collibra, or similar metadata management tool.
  • Experience with Looker, or similar data visualization tool.
  • Experience with SQL, Google BigQuery, Python, Java, or equivalent database queries and views.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline
  • Master's Degree strongly preferred
  • 2 years of relevant experience
