The Development Officer position is part of Wilder's Advancement Team, working to attract, engage, and inspire relationships with Wilder to generate connections and revenue, supporting Wilder's ability to be a partner, have impact, and build a stronger community for generations to come.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Wilder's annual fund plan, including mid-level giving, special campaigns, and events.
  • Plan and manage annual efforts to build and strengthen Wilder's donor base through individualized outreach to mid-level donors.
  • Engage in direct annual donor engagement and manage cultivation and fundraising events.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Development, Major and Planned Giving Officer, and supervise one Development Specialist.
  • Contribute to the Advancement Team's efforts, which include institutional grant fundraising, communications, and volunteer engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of progressive experience in donor cultivation, annual giving, and event management.
  • At least two years of experience supervising full-time employee(s).
  • Proven track record in non-profit fundraising strategies, including mid-level and annual donor cultivation and solicitation.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of annual fund development and fundraising.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to create excitement around Wilder's mission and build trusting relationships.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and follow through effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple ongoing projects in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and develop relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel within the Twin Cities metro area.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and data management systems such as Raiser’s Edge.

  • Additional experience that can substitute for degree requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 4 years of experience in donor cultivation, annual giving, and event management.
  • Experience supervising full-time staff.
