About the Role

The Devices Product Marketing Manager for Pixel and Nest at Google plays a pivotal role in the complete marketing experience for consumer hardware products. This role involves understanding user needs, developing product positioning and go-to-market strategies, and working closely with cross-functional teams across marketing, product management, UX, design, engineering, sales, and more. The goal is to demonstrate how Google's products solve consumer problems by connecting technology with user needs and managing the entire product marketing lifecycle from analysis to launch and post-launch support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers and cross-functional team members to develop product positioning, feature development, go-to-market plans, sell-in content, and sustaining marketing strategies.
  • Develop, manage, and own relationships with a cross-functional team, including marketers, creative teams, PR, sales, and customer support, to ensure a comprehensive approach to the product narrative.
  • Advocate for the user across cross-functional teams, ensuring all marketing strategies and tactics align with overarching product positioning, consumer needs, and messaging strategy.
  • Serve as the product expert both internally and externally to ensure accurate representation across all marketing and sales assets, including understanding of the competition and market.
  • Gather actionable customer insights from surveys, interviews, and usability testing to inform product and marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product marketing or similar experience within consumer tech with hardware products.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across geographies and organizational functions.
  • Understanding of the go-to-market process from concept to launch and post-launch support.
  • Ability to think strategically about complex issues and develop actionable recommendations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in product marketing, consumer marketing, and insights, ideally in consumer hardware or other goods with fixed launch timelines.
  • Experience working with software teams including feature development and GTM strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills working in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • US base salary range of $114,000-$163,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
