Digital Content Strategist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of professional, polished video products supporting cultural-educational programs and initiatives, including video capture, editing, and post-production work.
• Perform graphic design and layout of works involving textual elements, integrating photography, illustration, and audio to enhance products.
• Design and develop content and messaging aligned with project or program goals.
• Monitor technological trends to position products at the leading edge of multimedia delivery.
• Apply expertise in understanding various digital content delivery platforms to strategically deliver content to targeted audiences.
• Monitor social media trends and opportunities to ensure effective online dissemination channels.
• Ensure online content is easily accessible through appropriate social media, web, and multimedia platforms.
• Create and code effective messages for mass communication via social media, email, or other platforms.
• Develop and implement strategies for increased engagement across digital media including web, social media, and virtual applications.
• Support and deliver virtual and in-person experiences through virtual platforms, managing virtual platform operations, social media functions, and streaming technology.
• Manage technical aspects of virtual engagement contexts, including connecting with partner organizations and setting up webinars, virtual conferences, and online events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Video Production, Media Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Digital Studies, Digital Technologies, Web Technology, New Media Design, Media Arts, Communications, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in the field with a diverse portfolio.
• Demonstrable expertise in at least two of the following: video production, graphic design, virtual engagement, and website construction.
• Experience in developing and disseminating multimedia products such as videos and digital educational materials.
• Training or experience with digital technologies, business applications, or graphics software following industry standards.
• Familiarity with marketing and community distribution channels for multimedia products.
• Deep engagement in efforts to strengthen Hawaiian culture, ʻōlelo, and ‘āina-focused education and advocacy.
• Ability to work on collaborative projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Planning proficiency for timely product delivery.
• Ability to work under guidance and communicate effectively with leaders.
• Problem-solving skills and self-motivation to achieve project goals.
• Facility with team communication tools such as Slack and Basecamp.

Nice to Have

• Expertise in using HTML, CSS, DHTML, and proficiency in modifying JavaScript and PHP code.
• Knowledge of SEO, accessibility, animation, special effects, and mobile development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications.
• Ability to develop animated video products.
• Familiarity with video game development and interactive educational products.
• Demonstrated commitment to Kamehameha Schools’ mission and the mission of Kanaeokana.
• Established relationships with potential contributors and partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in multimedia content creation and digital engagement.

• Annual salary range of $79,100.00 - $108,400.00, commensurate with experience.
