About the Role

The Salvation Army Del Oro Division is seeking a Digital Media Manager for a temporary 7-month position. The role involves coordinating, planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring digital marketing functions and social media efforts. The position works closely with the PR & Communications Director and the Senior Marketing Manager to develop plans for increased fundraising, manage digital activities, and support large event planning and execution. The organization is motivated by Christian values and aims to meet human needs through evangelism and service without discrimination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Marketing Content Calendar with projected digital campaigns and content throughout the year.
  • Serve as the master user of Hootsuite for Del Oro; take ownership of all social media content and scheduling.
  • Integrate national and territorial content/campaigns into the website and social media platforms.
  • Implement marketing content across Del Oro websites and social media channels.
  • Maintain communication of digital marketing activities with the field and consult with officers on their digital needs.
  • Create engaging text, images, and embedded video content to increase website and social traffic.
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule based on web traffic and engagement metrics.
  • Suggest new ways to promote Army programs and attract donors.
  • Use Adobe Create Suite and other graphics software to edit photos and create graphics for website and social media posts.
  • Monitor social media accounts for inappropriate content and facilitate online conversations with followers and donors.
  • Work with various teams to create custom email marketing campaigns and track email program performance.
  • Serve as the primary user of Classy for digital fundraising campaigns, including creating new campaigns and managing appeal codes.
  • Keep the Del Oro section of SharePoint updated.
  • Research audience preferences and current trends, maintaining Google Trends reports.
  • Track Google Analytics and social media analytics, providing necessary digital metrics.
  • Design social media posts to engage readers and support digital fundraising efforts.
  • Stay current with changes in social media platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Serve as backup for Senior Marketing Manager in creating print marketing materials and managing the website.
  • Communicate with donors via social media and email to repair relationships if needed.
  • Respond to queries from donors on social media and email.
  • Assist with planning and executing large events, including the Annual Luncheon and Helping Handbags.
  • Work with community groups and vendors to build awareness and attract participation for events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, Business, or Communications preferred; relevant work experience covering essential duties required.
  • Proven skills in working in a computer network environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with email marketing tools such as MailChimp and website editing tools like WordPress preferred.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS preferred.
  • Knowledge of social media and website analytics and reporting.
  • Proficiency with fonts, graphics, and visual layout.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and give oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to create and give presentations or speeches.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with understanding of ratios and percentages.
  • Strong administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, flexible, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid California Driver's License, pass all required driver safety tests, and be insurable in California.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice to Have

  • Certification in Google Analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or Communications.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in social media marketing.
