About the Role

Founded in 1997 as the collaborative peace and social justice ministry of the Maryknoll Sisters, Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, and Maryknoll Lay Missioners, the office brings the voice and experience of Maryknoll missioners into policy discussions in the United Nations, the U.S. and other governments, international financial institutions and the corporate world to promote peace, social justice and the integrity of creation. The mission is carried out through education and advocacy in cooperation with other Maryknoll departments and in collaboration with other faith-based and civil society organizations. Join our Catholic international advocacy organization as a Digital Media Specialist to manage and produce compelling digital content across various platforms, helping us advocate for justice and peace worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, produce, and manage engaging content for our social media channels, website, magazine, and CRM platform, ensuring alignment with our organizational mission and advocacy goals.
  • Implement and evolve our social media strategy, including daily posting, community engagement, and performance analysis to maximize reach and impact.
  • Update website content using WordPress, ensuring accuracy and a user-friendly experience.
  • Design, edit, and produce bi-monthly e-newsletter and weekly action alerts, managing subscriber lists and analyzing campaign performance within our CRM.
  • Assist in the editing and production of bimonthly newsletter, occasional reports and two-page briefs using Indesign, ensuring high-quality presentation and clear messaging.
  • Produce and edit short videos for various digital platforms, from concept to final delivery.
  • Utilize and optimize our digital tools, including WordPress, Canva, Salsa Labs CRM, Microsoft Office 365, and Google Apps, to streamline workflows and enhance content delivery.
  • Work closely with program teams to ensure consistent messaging and integrated digital campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • 5+ years work experience in a comparable setting.
  • Experience in digital content creation and management, with portfolio showing work on social media, web, and email.
  • Proficiency in WordPress website content management system.
  • Expertise in Canva for graphic design and visual content creation.
  • Experience with CRM platform for email marketing and constituent management.
  • Strong command of MS 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
  • Demonstrated experience with video production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong editorial abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Canva for graphic design.
  • International experience and Spanish language speaking and writing skills.
  • Openness to occasional international travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • 1 year experience in digital content creation.
  • 1 year experience with WordPress.
