About the Role

Grundfos Water Utility is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join its Municipal Digital Sales team as the Digital Sales Manager who will be focused on markets and applications involving Grundfos Connect Sewer (GCS) monitoring solutions. This role is responsible for accelerating sales and rapid development of an account base. The DSM is responsible for driving this growth through ongoing interface with end-users working through the Grundfos Sales team and the Company's Partners. This position reports to the Area Sales Director - Water Utility/Muni USA & Canada and works closely with the Market Development Director for establishing GCS in the US. This is a remote position, with a strong preference for location in the eastern half of the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong, well focused sales network and ensure customer satisfaction by providing extensive application and product knowledge.
  • Aggressively develop and acquire accounts with focus on Target Accounts.
  • Directly engage and build relationships with customers to understand their specific requirements and needs while identifying and developing new/emerging opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for Sales Channel strategies, improvements, and issues.
  • Develop, train, manage and provide ongoing support of the Sales Channel network.
  • As the subject matter expert, provide in-depth knowledge of the GCS solutions including the product's features, capabilities, and competitive advantages, and effectively communicate this information to the sales team and customers.
  • Provide guidance on effective sales techniques, objection handling, and value-based selling approaches.
  • Craft sales messaging related to the applications and products, train the sales team, and serve as a liaison between Applications management and Sales.
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions and workshops for the Sales team and Partners to enhance their ability to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Provide regular summaries to relevant Company stakeholders on market and application trends, developing Sales opportunities, potential barriers to growth, competitive landscape and trends.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop effective sales messaging that highlights the unique value proposition of Grundfos Connect Sewer solutions for key applications.
  • Contribute to sales collateral materials, presentations, and demonstrations with internal teams to enable effective communication of the essential benefits of GCS solution.
  • Collaborate across functions and motivate sales teams to achieve intended results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other relevant discipline, or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven successful experience selling wastewater collection systems flow and/or level monitoring solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Municipal market and experience selling to Municipal accounts.
  • High level of technical knowledge, specifically around Municipal Applications in wastewater collection systems.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in building Sales channel partnerships.
  • Ambition and readiness to take on significant responsibilities and drive growth.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting technical concepts and value propositions to engineers, operations, and C-level persons.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for timely tracking of Opportunities.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is viewed as an asset.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.

  • Spanish language skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in wastewater collection systems flow and/or level monitoring solutions.
  • Experience selling to Municipal accounts.
  • Technical knowledge of Municipal Applications in wastewater systems.
  • Experience building Sales channel partnerships.
