About the Role

The marketing technology director is responsible for understanding marketing outcomes that deliver upon Quest's business objectives, mapping out a long-term strategy for achieving those outcomes, and implementing projects that will execute that strategy step-by-step. You are both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator, primarily leveraging expertise in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform. Your focus is on the technical roadmap including platform integrations, solutions leveraging functionality, strategic thought leadership, and team performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical aspects of Quest patient communication across multiple business units, partnering with marketing and business leaders to understand business goals.
  • Provide solution architecture for complex business problems and collaborate with internal teams to create and implement innovative high-quality solutions.
  • Develop, test, and document email development, setup and query data extension, marketing automations, journeys, SMS communications, and campaign configuration.
  • Administer the creation and management of new and existing Marketing Cloud instances and business units.
  • Develop and document specific training requirements.
  • Provide data model design and implementation.
  • Implement key integrations between Marketing Cloud and the broader Quest IT ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with internal and agency teams during workshops, discovery sessions, etc.
  • Consult on best practices, governance, and compliance on marketing automation platforms within the organization.
  • Manage an agile team within the Digital Center of Excellence with direct and indirect employees, including hiring, performance reviews, training, work prioritization, and coaching.
  • Report to the Executive Director of Consumer Marketing.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in developing technology solutions.
  • 7+ years experience working on the Marketing Cloud and Salesforce.com platforms.
  • Must have 5+ years experience managing agile teams.
  • Experience with HTML, SQL, SOQL, or other similar languages.
  • Experience using Marketing Cloud AMPscrip.
  • Experience with APEX and REST/SOAP API.
  • Deep expertise in marketing automation, cross-channel customer engagement tactics, analytics, and optimization.
  • Ability to organize and lead cross-functional sessions resulting in clear requirements and technical design.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts, business models, and technologies.
  • Skilled in system design including data modeling, integration design, and business process implementation.
  • Demonstrated success in large or complex consulting projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-driven.

Nice to Have

  • Marketing Cloud Certifications including: Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Developer, or Marketing Cloud Consultant.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, marketing, etc.
  • Master's degree in computer science, business, marketing, etc.
