Job Description

About the Role

The Director, DE DTC Marketing Finance is responsible for leading the DE DTC Marketing Finance - Strategic Finance team within Disney's Streaming division. The role involves managing the global Disney Streaming Marketing budget, providing financial guidance and analysis to support decision-making, and collaborating with various stakeholders across Business, Marketing, Content, and Technology. The position requires onsite presence four days a week and can be based in either NYC or Los Angeles. The role is integral to monitoring marketing KPIs, evaluating campaign performance, and driving financial planning processes to optimize marketing investments and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide business consultation and financial guidance that shapes client thinking and supports decision making processes.
  • Create and present insightful financial analysis for client stakeholders and senior Finance management.
  • Oversee the development of commentary and explanations for management reports and client-specific reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency across financial planning processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Finance professionals.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to inform the Annual Operating Plan and produce master Long Range Plan financial models for scenario analysis.
  • Produce recurring reports such as Forecast Executive Updates, DTC Marketing Fact Pack, and Marketing KPIs Workbook.
  • Evaluate marketing campaign performance through comprehensive after-action reviews.
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics to advise on and develop media mix modeling attribution models.
  • Monitor weekly media spend and forecast spend up to four weeks in advance.
  • Assess incremental budget requests, including spend per first stream and tiering analysis.
  • Manage global marketing budgets across various levels of granularity.
  • Lead Long Range Planning process and facilitate bottoms-up planning with Marketing stakeholders.
  • Drive standardization of planning and budgeting metrics to optimize marketing portfolio strategies.
  • Manage Disney Streaming Lifetime Value (LTV) analysis, collaborating with Data Science and other teams to develop and verify product-level LTVs, and communicate business health and drivers to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or economics; MS/MBA a plus.
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, preferably in a direct-to-consumer business.
  • Previous experience leading and developing talent within a team.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with solid business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to interact and partner with all levels of management and stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Ability to provide a consultative approach to drive business and financial decisions.
  • Proactive and adaptive communication style, capable of effectively communicating across disciplines and geographies.
  • Ability to translate financial information for various business audiences to support decision making.
  • Flexibility and agility to anticipate change and respond to client needs and priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with media mix modeling and attribution models.
  • Experience in a media or entertainment company.
  • Experience with financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or economics.
  • MS/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in finance.
