About the Role

The Director of Global Marketing for Skincare at Clinique is responsible for overseeing the assigned skincare category, developing strategic objectives, creating and executing 3-year action plans, and fostering growth through aligned calendar planning. The role involves managing marketing programs, collaborating with local teams, and ensuring programs meet strategic and financial goals within a global brand context.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end ownership of the assigned Skincare Category for Clinique, including defining strategic objectives and creating 3-year action plans.
  • Develop and foster a strong 18-month rolling calendar plan aligned with overall category, brand strategies, and global objectives to promote growth.
  • Monitor category performance, identify product gaps and opportunities, and develop action plans to improve brand performance.
  • Serve as the expert and key point person for performance metrics such as shipments, sell-thru, cost of goods, SKU count, pricing, and new product forecasts.
  • Assist in developing global marketing calendars and support programs, gaining approval for segment programs and projects.
  • Manage the conception and development of marketing programs for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Prepare business cases and planning documents for senior management approval on launches and support programs.
  • Oversee the preparation of all planning guides to inform markets of upcoming programs and ensure timely, within-budget project execution.
  • Lead the development of launches with support groups, ensuring programs meet strategic goals.
  • Coordinate with local marketing teams and affiliates to meet market needs, providing timely information on programs and preparing presentation materials for meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years related experience in marketing or brand management.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, creative, and communication skills.
  • Pro-active strategic and critical thinking skills with the ability to take initiative and offer recommendations.
  • Highly organized, self-starter, accountable, and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports and fostering cross-functional relationships.
  • Trend-spotter with an understanding of evolving consumer and market shifts.
  • Passion for the cosmetics/beauty industry.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies within the beauty or cosmetics industry.
