About the Role

The Director, Index Commercial Intelligence at S&P Dow Jones Indices is responsible for leading index market intelligence efforts, analyzing key trends, identifying market opportunities, and producing insights that shape strategy. This role plays a critical part in reinforcing S&P DJI's leadership and articulating its value in the indexed products space. The team delivers research and insights that drive strategic and commercial decisions, tracking industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform market positioning and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze industry trends, fund launches, and market gaps.
  • Conduct client and competitor due diligence to inform strategy.
  • Develop external reports and educational content that communicate our market position and value proposition.
  • Build internal market scorecards, leadership stats, and strategic updates.
  • Work with internal teams to translate insights into business growth strategies.
  • Serve as a thought leader, providing industry expertise to stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in financial markets with a strong focus on research and data-driven analysis.
  • Deep understanding of market structure, investment processes, and financial data.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience developing insights that support commercial decision-making and thought leadership.
  • Proficiency with key financial datasets such as Morningstar, FactSet, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools like Python, R, SQL, and VBA is a plus.
  • Master's degree or CFA Charterholder is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing insights that support commercial decision-making and thought leadership.
  • Proficiency with key financial datasets such as Morningstar, FactSet, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools like Python, R, SQL, and VBA.
