About the Role

The Director, Marketing is a key communicator, strategic marketing thinker and project leader, and the direct connector with key department heads and affiliated advisors at AdvisorNet Financial. The role involves creating a consistent and meaningful experience across departments to support organizational growth aligned with its vision. The position will plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate the work activities of the marketing team, owning internal and external marketing and communications to enhance brand awareness, attract new employees and advisors, and support existing advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the strategic vision—both short- and long-term—for all marketing initiatives and functions in partnership with the SVP of Marketing & Strategic Initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing and promotion business plan to accelerate company growth.
  • Lead and manage the marketing team and support contract freelancers to execute the strategic vision.
  • Combine strategic thinking and leadership with hands-on execution, including written content creation.
  • Manage marketing revenue and expenses within budget; develop strategies to increase revenue and reduce expenses through innovative efficiencies.
  • Promote in-house agency resources to the organization's affiliated financial advisors.
  • Provide strategic marketing and consultative services to affiliated advisors and lead management and execution of advisor-requested marketing support.
  • Develop strategy and manage execution for the development of the AdvisorNet brand across various platforms including webpages, social media, and video.
  • Lead the management, development, and rollout of all internal and external communications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key departmental leaders to drive business growth through marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Manage in-person and virtual events and meetings, including event planning and resource allocation within budget.
  • Create content and executive-level presentations for advisors, shareholders, and board members.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and develop employees, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development.
  • Oversee employee performance management, provide feedback, and support professional growth.
  • Develop and execute the department’s strategic business plan aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the department budget, including compensation review and fiscal stewardship.
  • Maintain employee work schedules, including assignments, time off, telecommuting, and overtime scheduling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or relevant field.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, including 5+ years of experience creating marketing strategy in the financial services industry.
  • 5+ years of experience as a people manager with proven success in relationship-focused leadership.
  • Ability to lead under pressure on multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to connect creative thinking and bold actions to business results.
  • Knowledge of marketing campaign development, execution, and leveraging data and analytics to improve results.
  • Experience working with financial advisor practices is preferred.
  • Ability to commute to Minnetonka, MN 55305.
