About the Role

The Director, Marketing - Brooklyn Basketball at BSE Global is responsible for driving awareness, enrollment, and education of the marketplace on programs for boys' and girls' basketball players ages 6-17. The role involves supporting the evolution of Brooklyn Basketball into a world-class youth sports brand by developing marketing strategies, overseeing consumer activations, crafting go-to-market campaigns, and cultivating grassroots relationships. The position is deeply embedded within the Brooklyn Basketball team and collaborates with various departments to support community-focused basketball initiatives and the promotion of the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft brand strategy and positioning to support business goals, grow brand affinity, and educate the marketplace about the value proposition.
  • Conceive and execute holistic marketing plans across channels including digital, social media, paid media, in-venue, and experiential touchpoints.
  • Provide thought partnership for Brooklyn Basketball leadership to guide product strategy and optimize programming for target audiences.
  • Work closely with Data, Analytics & Insights and Lifecycle Marketing teams to nurture and scale the customer database, developing long-term relationships.
  • Build connections with the local community and leverage grassroots marketing tactics to increase awareness, word-of-mouth, and participation.
  • Develop activations and experiential marketing initiatives at games and events to increase visibility and affinity.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Tech & Content teams to leverage digital platforms, social media, and talent relationships for engagement.
  • Partner with Nets & Liberty leadership to create cross-marketing opportunities and elevate consumer touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Ticketing & Partnerships teams to develop commercial opportunities such as group sales, ticket bundles, and partner platforms.
  • Establish goals and KPIs, set up reporting infrastructure, measure performance, analyze data, and leverage insights for decision-making.
  • Oversee the marketing budget, ensure resource allocation efficiency, and create a calendar to maximize ROI.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, community partners, and youth organizations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Marketing with brands and/or agencies.
  • Strong background in marketing strategy, digital marketing, and grassroots marketing.
  • Experience crafting successful marketing campaigns aligned with business goals.
  • Understanding of customer acquisition, conversion, and retention principles.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of scaling brands.
  • Experience working in youth sports and/or with youth-focused products is a major plus.
  • A network of relationships that can unlock opportunities for Brooklyn Basketball.
  • Passion for growing the game of basketball and making a community impact.
  • Proficient communicator capable of leading projects, meetings, and presentations.
  • Results-driven with strong executive presence and ability to nurture relationships at all levels.
  • Analytically minded, capable of using data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and deliver projects on time.
  • Stay informed on youth and sports culture to generate innovative ideas.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing strategy, digital marketing, and grassroots marketing
  • Proven success in developing and executing marketing campaigns
  • Understanding of customer acquisition, conversion, and retention
  • Experience in youth sports or youth-focused products (preferred)
