About the Role

The Director Medicaid Plan Marketing is responsible for the planning and direction of specific marketing strategies for a single functional marketing area within Elevance Health. This role involves coordinating Medicaid growth and engagement initiatives, ensuring regional marketing plans meet contractual requirements, developing community relations strategies, and collaborating across the organization to drive growth and innovation. The position offers a hybrid work environment with in-office and virtual work, and requires travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and directing the efforts of the Medicaid growth and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensuring marketing plans within the region meet state contractual requirements.
  • Developing and implementing individual health plan Community Relations Strategy.
  • Collaborating in creating robust value-added benefits to improve quality outcomes, including member selection and member engagement approach.
  • Driving member retention and loyalty programs.
  • Leading efforts to develop key partnerships that drive innovation and growth.
  • Collaborating with all Elevance Health businesses in Texas to drive growth.
  • Auditing website and relevant vendor relationships - providing oversight and performance management.
  • Researching and evaluating competitive activity.
  • Implementing effective tracking mechanisms for tracking daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities and productivity.
  • Developing and conducting staff training methods.
  • Making recommendations to appropriate functions to achieve product modifications or improvements derived from market research, technical service work, or marketing feedback.
  • Developing and recommending department operating budgets.
  • Securing approval of objectives, policies, and programs for corporate marketing activities, and evaluating and reporting results.
  • Partnering with brand management to identify appropriate media opportunities.
  • Preparing presentations regarding marketing and outreach programs for senior management groups.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience including prior leadership experience.
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience in working with the Texas Medicaid population, including STAR, CHIP, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, ACA, and D-SNP (preferred).
  • Managed Care Health Plan experience (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills (preferred).
  • Project management certification (preferred).
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (preferred).

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in working with the Texas Medicaid population, including but not limited to STAR, CHIP, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, ACA, and D-SNP.
  • Managed Care Health Plan experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management certification.
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with at least 8 years of related experience including leadership.
  • Preferred Master's degree.

  • Managed Care Health Plan experience preferred.
