Job Description

About the Role

We believe in the life-changing impact youth sports have on and off the field because they encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and confidence—important life lessons that have the power to propel our youth toward meaningful futures. We recognize that without coaches, parents, and volunteers, organized youth sports could not exist. By building the first and best place to experience the youth sports moments important to our community, we are helping families elevate the next generation through youth sports. GameChanger is a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today. The role of Director of Advertising involves leading and accelerating our advertising strategy in partnership with the DICK'S Media Network, shaping our advertising product roadmap, sales proposition, and go-to-market execution, while ensuring our brand and platform are represented within broader campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve GC's ad monetization roadmap in close partnership with Product, Data, and Engineering, guiding what is built and how it aligns with revenue and user experience.
  • Identify ad opportunities embedded in GC's live content and community behaviors, evaluate tradeoffs, validate concepts, and champion native formats that add value.
  • Lead the development of GC-specific pitch materials and sales narratives in coordination with DMN Sales and Product Marketing, serving as the primary author of GC's advertising story.
  • Join advertiser conversations, evangelize the GC value proposition, and partner with DMN Sales to support education and adoption, especially in non-endemic growth areas.
  • Operate as the primary driver of GC advertising initiatives, aligning teams, managing handoffs, and resolving ambiguity across GC and DMN stakeholders.
  • Surface and resolve operational blockers across product and sales workflows, serving as the go-to partner for account ownership clarity, internal communications, and workflow cohesion.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in digital advertising, monetization, or adtech, with exposure to both product and go-to-market workstreams.
  • Proven track record of delivering advertising growth within consumer-facing platforms, ideally streaming, retail media, marketplaces, or social.
  • Comfortable working across matrixed organizations, shared ownership, and joint accountability (e.g., media networks, partnerships, alliances).
  • Confident communicator and partner to sales, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Highly execution-oriented, able to move fast, solve ambiguity, and iterate in real time.
  • Skilled at translating technical complexity into clear, sellable value propositions.
  • Experience in youth, family, sports content, or community platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the ad needs of non-endemic brands is preferred.
