Director of Conference Content

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive agendas for Data Center World and Data Center World POWER conferences
• Develop compelling themes, tracks, and core topics addressing industry challenges including power sourcing, sustainability, and AI-driven infrastructure
• Recruit and manage high-caliber speakers
• Manage conference advisory boards composed of key stakeholders and industry leaders to provide insights, guidance, and support for organizational initiatives
• Support all program elements during events
• Partner with the Event Director and leadership team to strategically expand Data Center World's international footprint
• Identify emerging markets and opportunities for growth
• Drive membership growth and chapter expansion in collaboration with the AFCOM leadership and Association Manager
• Implement organizational efficiencies
• Produce engaging content that advances the careers of data center and IT infrastructure professionals
• Support AFCOM's mission of serving professionals who design, build, operate, and manage data centers
• Manage team including contractors
• Collaborate with industry groups and end-user audiences to deepen engagement and foster collaboration
• Represent the brand at industry events and functions
• Build relationships with key technology providers and solution partners
• Coordinate and oversee development of the annual State of the Data Center research
• Identify emerging industry trends and disruptive technologies
• Support the sales team with strategic account acquisition
• Advise marketing on event positioning to the professional ecosystem
• Develop content strategies for audience development and lead generation using data-driven approaches
• Collaborate with a PR agency to design and execute earned media strategies
• Work with digital teams to optimize content delivery across multiple channels

Requirements

• Experience in content strategy and operations within the data center or technology industry
• Ability to develop conference agendas, themes, and tracks addressing industry challenges
• Experience managing speakers, advisory boards, and teams including contractors
• Strong partnership and relationship-building skills with industry groups, end-users, and technology providers
• Ability to identify industry trends and emerging technologies
• Experience supporting organizational growth and international expansion
• Skills in strategic account acquisition, marketing collaboration, and content development
• Experience working with digital channels and media strategies
