About the Role

The Director of Graduate Enrollment and Marketing oversees and implements recruitment strategies for graduate programs, manages communication and community engagement efforts, and collaborates with university departments to improve enrollment processes. The role involves coordinating marketing efforts, representing the university at events, analyzing data to optimize recruitment, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement recruitment strategies by coordinating recruitment events, maintaining and improving program websites, updating marketing materials, facilitating community engagement, managing program advertisements, and maintaining a consistent and effective social media presence for all graduate programs.
  • Coordinate with Dean of Graduate Studies and Professional Education, program directors and deans to review applicant trends and improve graduate recruitment and applications processes and systems.
  • Advise prospective applicants on necessary academic and professional preparation and appropriateness of program as it pertains to applicants' goals using in-depth knowledge of program admission criteria.
  • Advise applicants on actions of admissions committee, rejection reasons, and appeals, and on readmission and program requirements.
  • Remain current on university admission processes and requirements, competitive programs, and developments in higher education and financial aid.
  • Cultivate prospective graduate student relationships via phone, email, text, and in person meetings.
  • Monitor completeness of applicants' files, evaluate files for discrepancies, and route complete files to the committee for review.
  • Coordinate with programs and schools to ensure timely review of graduate program applications within Slate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to ensure students are navigating the enrollment process.
  • Oversee the enrollment communication plan for graduate studies programs, including correspondence, recruitment, and promotional materials.
  • Work closely with University Marketing and Creative Services to ensure communications comply with branding standards.
  • Organize and direct multi-channel recruitment strategies, including chat sessions, call campaigns, social media, email, text messages, and mailers.
  • Develop comprehensive recruitment plans and assess their effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Represent the Office of Graduate Studies at school and university-wide events including open houses and commencement.
  • Plan and execute in-person and virtual information sessions and organize recruiting events at graduate fairs and community events.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase awareness and engagement with the community regarding graduate studies.
  • Identify markets for graduate student recruitment and maintain relationships with organizations and institutions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of admissions programming through feedback, surveys, and data analysis, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Utilize Slate reporting and data visualization tools to identify audiences and develop engagement strategies.
  • Analyze data to identify trends in lead flow and enrollment, and develop recruiting strategies to meet admissions goals.
  • Track and report on recruitment efforts using Slate and other data management systems.
  • Utilize Slate, website CMS, and other technology to increase recruiting efficiency and communication.
  • Perform active administration of the university CRM tool (Slate) and ensure compliance with record security policies, retention schedules, and FERPA requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel regionally for recruitment events
  • Ability to carry and transport informational materials to off-campus recruiting locations
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff
  • Ability to meet deadlines
