About the Role

The Director of Marketing Science & Business Intelligence is a key leadership role within a managed services business focused on the North American online gambling industry. The role involves leading data efforts for clients, driving business insights, and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization. It requires a polished communicator who can translate complex data into actionable narratives and collaborate closely with stakeholders to optimize marketing and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary analytics liaison for client stakeholders, translating business needs into analytical solutions and presenting insights with professionalism and clarity.
  • Lead and own weekly and monthly business review presentations, delivering detailed analysis of business performance across marketing, operations, and product, and providing actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain data models using database tools (DBT).
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders to monitor performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Ensure strong data governance practices around data quality and integrity by establishing and enforcing best practices for data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize multi-touch attribution models to measure marketing channel effectiveness.
  • Design and execute media mix modeling to inform budget allocation and maximize ROI.
  • Analyze user data and build or maintain models such as player cohorting, lifetime value, etc.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product teams to translate business objectives into data-driven strategies.
  • Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights for strategic marketing decisions.
  • Stay updated with trends in data science, analytics, and marketing technology.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Own the analytics project lifecycle from scoping to delivery and iteration.
  • Drive development and implementation of predictive models and machine learning algorithms to enhance marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in analytics or data science roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and working with data warehouses.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques using Python or R.
  • Experience developing data pipelines in DBT.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with digital marketing platforms (Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, etc.) and understanding of various marketing channels.

Nice to Have

  • At least 3 years of experience leading data teams and developing data strategy and roadmap.
  • Experience conducting multi-touch attribution and media mix modeling.
  • Experience using machine learning techniques to build eLTV models.
  • Experience working for a mobile app or Direct to Consumer brand.
  • Familiarity with attribution reporting in a post Apple's ATT ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Marketing, or related fields.
