About the Role

The Director, Paid Search (Apple Search) at DEPT® is a leadership role responsible for overseeing paid search strategies, managing a team of experts, and ensuring flawless campaign execution across search channels. The role involves blending strategy, creativity, and leadership to deliver client success in a fully remote environment, with a focus on innovation, growth, and fostering a collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a team of paid search experts in daily account management, tactical creation, and implementation of search campaigns.
  • Track and analyze performance against goals and KPIs, ensuring campaigns meet client objectives and deadlines.
  • Support client partners in managing relationships related to paid search strategy, team, and performance.
  • Ensure effective collaboration of paid search strategy and implementation to achieve flawless execution aligned with client goals.
  • Act as point of escalation for activation team members, coaching on advanced strategies, optimizations, and processes.
  • Oversee team resourcing, update utilization tracking, and ensure optimal team bandwidth for client work.
  • Identify and develop talent within the team, creating succession plans and supporting upward mobility.
  • Drive innovation, thought leadership, and best practices in paid search, including new opportunities and channel-specific development.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years' paid search experience and at least 3 years in a client-facing marketing role.
  • Proven experience managing a team of 2 or more direct reports and mentoring team members into senior roles.
  • Deep understanding of Google Ads, Apple Search Ads, and Microsoft Ads.
  • Ability to audit accounts and present actionable insights to clients.
  • Experience discussing growth strategies, SEO, CRO, analytics, and measurement with marketing managers and C-Level executives.
  • Experience acting as an escalation point for clients and evaluating team service levels.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with integrated media ecosystems and understanding how paid search weaves within broader marketing channels.
  • Knowledge of campaign optimization, advanced strategies, and innovative paid search techniques.
