About the Role

Walmart is hiring a Director of Product Management to join its fast-paced and rapidly growing eCommerce Marketplace team. This role is ideal for a customer (seller)-obsessed Product Leader who thrives on building 0-1 product experiences that empower millions of sellers to deliver a best-in-class buying experience and grow their global sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build capabilities that help sellers improve catalog offer quality, set competitive prices, enhance review coverage, and increase transactability.
  • Lead the development of a platform that provides actionable seller insights to drive business growth.
  • Shape the strategy and development of tools that enable sellers to scale their businesses by 10x.
  • Leverage Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (Gen AI) to deliver transformational product experiences and insights.
  • Oversee multiple product teams across various domains, including hiring and talent development.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, engineers, analysts, data scientists, and designers to achieve key success metrics for the Marketplace.
  • Define long-term vision and create product strategy for capabilities that enable sellers to grow their sales.
  • Gather and document requirements, oversee product development, analyze seller and product data, and turn insights into actionable initiatives.
  • Drive innovation leveraging Gen AI and ML to help sellers get insights and take actions to grow their marketplace business.
  • Identify market opportunities based on market and competition analysis.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers.
  • Operate in an agile and iterative team environment, managing multiple priorities and cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 11 years' experience in product management.
  • Or 13+ years of experience in product management or related area.
  • Strong growth mindset and passion for innovation.
  • Deep expertise in building pricing and review ecosystems for marketplaces.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ability to operate at a detailed level across business, data science, and engineering functions.
  • Experience defining product strategy, gathering requirements, and managing product roadmaps.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies, especially Gen AI and ML, in product development.
  • Experience building and growing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, managing multiple projects without direct authority.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related area.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing, highly complex B2B/C products leveraging AI/ML.
  • Supervisory experience in managing teams.
  • Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and digital accessibility standards.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 11 years' experience in product management.
  • Option 2: 13+ years' experience in product management or related area.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related area with 10 years' experience as a product manager.
