About the Role

The Director of Strategy and Operations is a critical part of Salesforce's Data Cloud Product Marketing team. This role involves driving integrated planning, operational excellence, and strategic project execution across the organization. The position connects various marketing functions, supports strategic initiatives, manages budgets, and fosters team culture and communications. The Data Cloud Product Marketing team focuses on positioning Salesforce as a leader in data and AI, driving cross-cloud messaging, enablement, competitive positioning, and go-to-market execution. The role acts as a trusted advisor to the VP of Product Marketing and leadership, ensuring clarity, alignment, and measurable impact across a global team. It requires a strategic mindset, program management expertise, operational discipline, technological curiosity, and strong communication skills to amplify the team's impact at the intersection of data, AI, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP of Product Marketing to shape the team's strategic agenda, translate priorities into actionable workstreams, and manage execution of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and V2MOM metric reporting.
  • Develop and lead the roadmap, delivery, and execution of key operational initiatives, establishing and managing the team's rhythm of business for alignment and follow-through.
  • Lead end-to-end management of strategic initiatives for the Data Cloud Product Marketing team, including building project plans, managing timelines, and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
  • Proactively identify risks, remove roadblocks, and drive cross-functional execution across Marketing Ops, Product, GTM, and Finance.
  • Work with functional leads to improve processes, propose solutions for resourcing, budget planning, and tools, and monitor budget variance with financial insights.
  • Drive education and clarity around KPIs, define and interpret new metrics, evaluate resource allocation, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Drive internal communications and alignment through leadership updates, Slack channels, and executive presentations.
  • Plan and support morale events, offsites, and onsite gatherings to foster collaboration, engagement, and team culture.
  • Identify cross-pollination opportunities across functions to increase impact and align marketing efforts with broader Salesforce initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing.
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to set priorities, align teams, and deliver results.
  • Experience with program management, operations, strategy, or marketing/communications.
  • Proven experience managing large, cross-functional programs and strategic projects in a high-growth, technology-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of driving measurable impact through KPIs and operational rigor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience crafting executive-ready presentations.
  • Financial proficiency, including budget planning, monitoring, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous, frequently changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and a strategic mindset.
