The Director, Programmatic, is a leadership role that involves guiding clients in adopting advanced programmatic media strategies, providing thought leadership, and ensuring Horizon's programmatic practice is recognized as best-in-class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recognize opportunities to develop organized perspectives on client questions, demonstrating comprehensive understanding and connecting to the client's business, while overseeing the creation of external deliverables such as presentations, POVs, and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement measurement frameworks in collaboration with analytics team members to answer complex client questions.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of technology partners, vendor solutions, and data-led strategies, including contextual, deterministic, and privacy considerations.
  • Stay curious about emerging channels, formats, and industry developments, assessing their features, costs, and potential results.
  • Ensure day-to-day account health and client satisfaction by managing timelines, deliverables, and follow-up.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Conduct ongoing education for clients and internal teams to elevate knowledge and work quality.
  • Drive innovation within account portfolios to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and proactively communicate potential impacts to clients.
  • Lead the team in producing insights from Horizon resources to deliver holistic business solutions, ensuring adherence to processes and norms.
  • Promote team development through feedback, education, and mentorship on industry best practices and principles.
  • Identify process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Vet vendors for training opportunities and stay current with industry capabilities.
  • Identify risks across processes and ensure positive working relationships with internal teams and clients.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of previous in-platform programmatic experience.
  • Expert-level understanding of programmatic buying and planning.
  • Experience mentoring and managing a team.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with multiple DSPs.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong storytelling skills.
  • A solutions-oriented problem solver with strong organization skills.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and is adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative team-oriented manager who leads by example.
  • Strong delegation skills and a business-mature demeanor.
