About the Role

PacificWest is hiring a Director, Sales to join our team. This position will be virtual, but the candidate should reside in California, Arizona or Nevada near a major airport. The role involves leading the sales team, developing market strategies, and generating new business in energy infrastructure modernization solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of sales executives to ensure a highly effective sales team
  • Manage the productivity of the sales team, including recognition and processes such as notice of concern (NOC), performance improvement plan (PIP), and termination if needed
  • Coach direct reports through all aspects of the sales process, including strategy, business planning, call planning, monthly meetings, joint sales call participation, forecasting, and relationship development
  • Attend and participate with the sales team at conferences, trade shows, customer events, and other sales activities
  • Develop and lead teams through deal reviews, go/no go reviews, risk assessments, opportunity milestone management
  • Coach to the ESG Value Framework Engagement sales process to identify customer needs and develop differentiated solutions
  • Deploy understanding of federal and state legislation related to energy infrastructure modernization, efficiency, resilience, and sustainability
  • Understand and be knowledgeable about available financing structures, grants, and incentives
  • Assist in creating and reviewing project cash flow pro-forma and financial scenarios, including project margins and risk assessments
  • Manage ESG software and processes, including CRM, to ensure compliance and effective tool usage
  • Coach on vertical markets, competition, procurement legislation, utility and facility solutions, design build construction, and performance contracting methodology
  • Work with corporate marketing on social media, marketing initiatives, and outreach to generate leads
  • Assist sales team in building a local ecosystem for prospecting
  • Help prepare and present professional proposals addressing customer needs and developing strategic financial value propositions
  • Coordinate and collaborate with ESG sales consultants and internal teams to ensure alignment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Seven (7) years of energy infrastructure modernization solutions and services sales or sales management experience
  • Familiarity with energy infrastructure, engineering/building trades, and mechanical aptitude

Nice to Have

  • Three (3) to five (5) years' management experience, with sales management experience preferred
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
