The role of Director/Senior Director, Research & Insights, involves providing leadership for the Marketing Cloud Research & Insights team, setting research strategy and vision, and working cross-functionally to drive action from insights. Key Responsibilities

  • Define, lead, and resource the research vision and agenda for the Marketing Cloud portfolio, partnering with the General Manager and cross-functional leadership to deliver insights supporting key priorities.
  • Proactively partner with senior management across teams such as Product, Design, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Customer Success to advocate for product strategy rooted in data and customer insights.
  • Lead a high-performance research team with direct reports across the US, including involvement in hiring and onboarding new team members.
  • Inspire and coach the team to deliver actionable, timely insights with measurable impact that inform cloud and product strategy as well as tactical decision-making.
  • Develop and advise researchers to excel on fast-paced projects, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and efficient execution within constrained timelines.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience leading research strategy in user experience, product design, or technology contexts.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including customer success, solution architects, design, product management, engineering, and marketing.
  • Excellent project management, executive communication skills, storytelling, and technical understanding of products.
  • Proficiency in a range of generative and evaluative research techniques and their application to complex questions in a technology environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills, with experience in growing, developing, and retaining top research and insights talent.
  • Proven track record of influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights in a technical product environment.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with leading a distributed team and implementing processes for remote collaboration.
  • Advanced competency with mixed methods research.
  • Experience in enterprise marketing and understanding of the market for marketing cloud solutions.
