Job Description

About the Role

The District Sales Manager is responsible for supervising the activities of the sales staff within their district, participating in the establishment of the region's sales plan, and ensuring sales, profitability, and accounts receivable performance. The role involves building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams, and supporting the company's food distribution system through sales leadership and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Develops and educates sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies through monthly sales meetings.
  • Attains targeted sales as determined by business goals.
  • Operates department and assigned personnel within budgetary guidelines.
  • Demonstrates awareness of customer needs and develops policies and practices to meet those needs.
  • Develops interpersonal relationships to encourage openness, candor, and trust internally and externally.
  • Provides professional assistance to customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Participates in industry organization meetings, develops and presents major account presentations, and analyzes competition.
  • Interacts with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely, and quality manner, ensuring questions and issues are addressed promptly.
  • Manages customer complaints, issues, and emergencies.
  • Establishes and monitors major account prospect lists and processes customer rebates and incentives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
  • 4-6 years foodservice sales and team lead or supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors in Business management, sales, marketing, or related area.
  • 6-10 years foodservice sales supervisory or management experience.
