About the Role

The EES Student Social Media Assistant will work with the department to promote programs, events, and majors through creating social content and monitoring trends. The role involves collaborating with office staff and faculty, planning events, and managing social media presence, supporting the department's visibility and engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student should be active on social media and know how to create all content for our platforms.
  • Maintain office social media accounts and support the office with other duties as assigned.
  • Help plan events and promote the department.
  • Attend weekly meetings with staff, chairperson, and faculty for content needs.
  • Assist with implementing social media strategies to increase visibility.
  • Provide feedback, insights, and help generate new ideas and creativity.
  • Attend department and ISU events that EES participates in.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Able to adapt to change, learn and retain information, plan, organize, and implement projects in a timely manner.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube.
  • Experience making reels and editing photos/videos.
  • Comfortable in front of the camera.
  • Student enrolled at Indiana State University in at least 6 credit hours.
  • Willing to attend department and ISU events.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media content creation and trend monitoring.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and current trends.
  • Experience in video editing and creating reels.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Hourly wage of $10.00.
  • Flexible work schedule up to 20 hours per week depending on availability and department needs.
