Job Description

About the Role

The Email Marketing Developer is responsible for coding emails using HTML, CSS, and AMPscript, conducting rendering testing across email clients and mobile devices, and performing light design modifications and image creation. This role requires end-to-end knowledge of email setup, from querying data to creating segments, developing high-quality emails, and managing QA and deployment. The position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure brand consistency, best practices, and compliance, with a focus on analytics and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Code multi-device optimized emails using HTML and map data using AMPscript.
  • Proof and test creative content for accuracy to meet email standards, then schedule and launch campaigns.
  • Interpret creative mockups into code, maintain and optimize existing content, and adhere to performance and best practice guidelines.
  • Use SQL to write queries for data segmentation, define data requirements, and collaborate with the business intelligence team to ensure correct data formatting.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic content libraries, assign them to customer attributes through coding within the ESP, and coordinate with data partners.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing teams and other Carnival business units to ensure emails follow brand guidelines, incorporate learnings, and are properly tagged for analytics.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to tracking, implementation, or deployment of email campaigns.
  • Understand and run basic reporting for senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience with email coding and development.
  • Experience executing complex email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and SQL for data queries and segmentation.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver) and/or Figma.
  • Knowledge of dynamic variable coding and data architecture for targeted marketing and dynamic content.
  • Experience with email testing strategies, including A/B testing.
  • Understanding of modern email best practices, including responsive layouts and mobile-first design.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
