About the Role

The Email Marketing Lead at Capital Bank N.A. is responsible for building and leading a modern, data-driven email marketing function focused on growth, retention, and customer lifetime value. This role involves owning the strategy, execution, and optimization of email campaigns across the full customer lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams, and managing the martech stack to create impactful communications that support brand, business, and customer objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive email marketing strategy across all lifecycle stages including acquisitions, nurture, welcome, onboarding, upsell, retention, reactivation, and winback.
  • Translate segment-specific goals into campaign strategies that drive engagement and action.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Product teams to ensure consistent messaging and visual alignment with brand and product positioning.
  • Develop, launch, and manage automated communications (email, SMS, push notifications) within Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent platform.
  • Lead briefing, content QA, targeting, and testing processes for all outbound emails.
  • Manage email calendars and coordinate with acquisition, product, and brand marketing teams.
  • Create responsive, accessible, mobile-first emails optimized for performance.
  • Implement segmentation strategies based on customer behavior, product usage, lifecycle stage, and demographics.
  • Partner with Analytics to build predictive and behavioral audiences for targeted campaigns.
  • Design and run A/B and multivariate tests to optimize subject lines, CTAs, content modules, and send times.
  • Use dynamic content and personalization to improve relevance and response rates.
  • Act as primary owner and power user of the email marketing platform, driving roadmap for new capabilities and integrations.
  • Ensure clean list management, consent tracking, and deliverability best practices.
  • Coordinate with Data and Engineering teams to ensure accurate flow of first-party data.
  • Define and track KPIs including open/click/conversion rates, opt-out rates, and list growth.
  • Build dashboards and reports to analyze campaign performance and business impact.
  • Continuously analyze performance and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in email or CRM marketing, ideally in a B2C or fintech environment.
  • Hands-on experience building campaigns in enterprise email platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, or Klaviyo.
  • Strong grasp of email design best practices, deliverability, CAN-SPAM compliance, and audience segmentation strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in driving lifecycle marketing impact through automation and personalization.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email and email QA tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UTM tracking, GA4, and email attribution models.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Data- and experimentation-oriented mindset.

  • Experience in financial services, credit, or highly regulated consumer verticals.
  • Experience working closely with creative teams and briefing content in-house or with agency partners.
  • Background in customer research and message testing.
