About the Role

This role will be responsible for building and leading the marketing function to support the successful launch and long-term commercialization of the company's first CAR T-cell therapy. This individual will develop and execute the marketing strategy for this therapy, oversee brand positioning, drive market penetration, and establish a high-performing team. As a key member of the US Biomedicine leadership team, this position will contribute to the development and execution of commercial, operational, and launch plans, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic objectives. The role requires deep expertise in oncology, market dynamics, digital and tactical marketing, and customer engagement, with a focus on building a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven marketing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the marketing strategy to maximize market potential and ensure commercial success, aligning with broader corporate objectives.
  • Drive the strategic and operational creation of annual brand plans, including success metrics, budget requirements, and tactical execution.
  • Lead the development of product positioning, messaging, and market segmentation to drive customer engagement and revenue growth.
  • Oversee digital and tactical marketing initiatives, including HCP and patient engagement strategies and scientific conference programs.
  • Manage and lead advertising agencies, establishing success metrics and conducting performance assessments.
  • Ensure all marketing activities and communications are in full compliance with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Serve as a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, providing strategic input into launch planning, commercialization, and operational strategy.
  • Partner closely with sales, market access, medical affairs, and R&D to ensure seamless execution of marketing plans and brand alignment.
  • Leverage market insights to inform the go-to-market strategy and develop customer engagement strategies to influence behavior change.
  • Lead the development and execution of external communications strategies and oversee internal and external training programs.
  • Ensure all marketing activities adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Build and develop a high-performing marketing team, defining structure, capabilities, and operating model, and providing coaching and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD) preferred.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, with at least eight (8) years of progressive leadership roles in pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Deep expertise in oncology, hematology, transplant, or cell therapy marketing strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading operational readiness for launch, ideally in cell therapy, oncology, transplant, rare disease, or other complex therapies.
  • Experience leading and building high-performing teams with strong people management skills.
  • Strong understanding of HCP engagement, patient education, payer marketing, and sales training strategies.
  • Knowledge of cross-functional teams such as account management, market access, sales operations, insights/analytics, and business development.
  • Existing relationships with key customers (e.g., KOLs, key account leadership, academic societies) are a plus.
  • Collaborative leadership style, inspiring and empowering teams, with strong decision-making and accountability skills.
  • Sharp analytical thinking, leveraging data and insights to inform strategy and performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing regulations, including FDA guidelines, OIG requirements, and industry best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with and understanding of other cross-functional teams such as account management, market access, sales operations, insights/analytics, and business development.
  • Existing relationships with key customers such as KOLs, key account leadership, and academic societies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • At least 12 years of experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical industry with leadership roles.
