About the Role

Motorola Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Experience Design Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves working with product managers, developers, data scientists, and the global UX team to design the next generation of public safety applications. The position emphasizes a human-centered, design-led product development process, collaboration across teams, understanding user needs, conducting usability testing, and creating wireframes, flows, and prototypes to communicate design intent. The role requires 10% domestic travel and offers telecommuting two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with global UX team to review concepts, evolve processes, and ensure unity across the company.
Work closely with experienced researchers to understand user needs and conduct usability testing.
Leverage industry best practices and tools to create wireframes, flows, and prototypes to communicate design intent to stakeholders.
Use design thinking to understand user needs, holistically analyze customer interactions, and iterate on user journeys.

Requirements

Experience in designing user interfaces and user experiences for applications.
Ability to create wireframes, flows, and prototypes using industry-standard tools.
Strong understanding of human-centered design and design thinking principles.
Experience conducting usability testing and understanding user research methods.
Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
