External Communications Manager for Revenue Lines

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Work with various revenue lines and subject matter experts, as well as relevant partners across Public Affairs & Communications, to develop and implement external communication plans that meet company goals and enhance external visibility.
• Evaluate complex information and strategically determine appropriate strategies and tactics to increase visibility in alignment with company goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters and news outlets, identify opportunities, develop content, and manage the execution of direct engagement with media.
• Prepare executives and facilitate interviews, track results to inform future tactics, and engage directly with external audiences including members of the media.
• Plan, manage, and execute external communication strategies to ensure effective communication to employees, shareholders, and the community.
• Edit internal and external publications, write speeches, and provide media support.
• Source and create content for owned channels and for securing earned media placements.
• Support media training for subject matter experts and create briefing materials and talking points for external activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight to ten years of experience in communications activities.
• Experience interacting with news outlets in support of media relations activities.
• Proven communication management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong research, analysis, and interviewing skills.
• Well-developed organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to negotiate and influence internal and external parties.

Qualifications

• Educational background includes a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
