About the Role

The FSM Field Sales Manager, Chain Accounts North Bay, is responsible for achieving sales volume and distribution objectives by managing and coaching a team of sales representatives. The role involves planning, organization, training, and execution to meet performance goals within the beverage industry, specifically focusing on wine and spirits. The position requires maintaining relationships with key accounts, developing new business, and ensuring team effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and coaches a team of sales representatives.
  • Conducts effective one-on-one sales meetings to communicate objectives, review performance, and identify opportunities.
  • Develops and reviews performance enhancement plans for each sales representative, including evaluations and coaching calls.
  • Addresses skill deficiencies by developing customized coaching plans and tracking progress.
  • Pre-plans sales periods by strategizing with team members and helping define target accounts.
  • Participates in the interview and onboarding process for new sales staff.
  • Maintains relationships with key accounts, performs customer business reviews, and develops opening orders with new accounts.
  • Manages open territories, resolves customer complaints, and manages supplier surveys and account planning.
  • Coordinates supplier ride-withs and collaborates with Business Managers on scheduling.
  • Resolves customer issues following company policies and escalates as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related sales experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other computer programs, including presentation software.
  • Results-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently or within a team, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytic and reporting skills with sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to hold a Solicitor's Permit.
  • Understanding of Wine and Spirits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
