About the Role

The role of the FT Deli Bakery Sales Manager (H) involves supporting store operations to meet financial and sales goals, building associate and customer relations, promoting a strong company culture, and maintaining effective communication within the store and organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates.
  • Daily management of labor and coaching associates to achieve productivity expectations.
  • Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
  • Provide excellent customer service by creating a positive shopping experience and promoting a friendly, fast, and flexible service environment.
  • Model outstanding customer service and use department product knowledge to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment.
  • Understand and utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems.
  • Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation are maintained.
  • Write Deli Bakery HMS schedules to ensure extraordinary customer service.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise according to policies.
  • Observe and correct unsafe conditions, ensuring safety for associates and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Record and report accidents, monitor shrink, and coach associates to prevent losses.
  • Utilize advertising and sales promotion materials properly.
  • Maintain security standards and a neat personal appearance.
  • Complete required training courses and meet physical requirements of the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
  • Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for the position.
  • Accreditation by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or ability to achieve within 90 days.
  • Ability to use computers and communication systems required for the job.
  • Physical ability to push/pull up to 2000 pounds with a pallet jack, lift products weighing up to 50 lbs., stand continuously, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Tolerance for working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with store operations and merchandising techniques.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Certified Food Safety Manager accreditation or ability to obtain within 90 days.
