About the Role

The Furniture Account Executive role involves prospecting and developing new furniture opportunities within the local marketplace, managing client relationships, collaborating with interior designers, and working in a team selling environment to maximize account penetration and retention. The position is based in the NY & NJ area / Northeast, with frequent travel required, and is part of HiTouch, a full-service company providing office productivity services with a network of distribution centers across the United States. Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect in the local marketplace for new furniture opportunities.
  • Develop local business relationships with influencers such as A/D community, commercial real estate brokers, and moving companies to identify potential opportunities early.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with existing clients assigned to the Account Executive, Furniture.
  • Lead the development of creative and innovative solutions to meet client needs in a differentiated manner.
  • Collaborate with Interior Designers to provide solutions that meet client functional, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements.
  • Lead the project strategy process and involve stakeholders in developing a winning sales plan to capture targeted accounts and opportunities.
  • Work in a team selling environment to develop account plans for existing accounts that maximize penetration and retention.
  • Coordinate with other Staples lines of business to identify cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • 3+ years of direct selling experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Detailed oriented and able to work in an unstructured environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Candidate should be competitive and self-motivated, with the ability to balance their needs with the needs of the company.
  • Must live in or near New York, New Jersey, or the Upper Northeast Region and be able to travel frequently within the area.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in the office furniture industry.
  • General knowledge of systems furniture.
  • Experience in customer interaction.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Computer literate (word processing, spreadsheets, project applications).
  • Working knowledge of furniture product applications.
  • Advanced selling skills.

Qualifications
