About the Role

The Graphic Designer 1 position in the Division of Administrative Rules at the Department of State involves creating, updating, and maintaining various publications, forms, letterheads, and logos in accordance with NYS branding guidelines. The role includes coordinating print and translation orders, ensuring materials meet legal and branding standards, and supporting the department's communication needs. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Albany, NY, with telecommuting options available.

Key Responsibilities

Creating and updating DOS publications and forms, ensuring accuracy and consistency with program requirements and NYS Branding Guidelines.
Creating and maintaining DOS letterheads and logos, updating resources as necessary in accordance with branding standards.
Completing miscellaneous print, duplication, and translation orders, including business cards, coordinating print work in-house and through vendors.
Obtaining quotes from vendors, scheduling and monitoring print requests, and facilitating translation of materials through designated vendors.
Ensuring all DOS vital documents follow the Language Access Law.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in an art or design field such as art, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, or interactive media.
Or associate's degree in the same fields with two years of relevant experience.
Ability to clearly demonstrate how they meet the minimum qualifications in their resume.
