About the Role

The Group Sales Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Boston is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue targets for guest rooms, catering, and function space within their assigned market segment. The role involves managing accounts, securing new high-end clients, and actively participating in sales activities to promote the hotel’s luxury offerings. The position reports to the Director of Commerce and is based in the hotel’s Sales Department, contributing to the hotel's reputation for legendary service inspired by Asian heritage and luxury experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounts from assigned markets.
  • Secure new high-end net worth accounts.
  • Conduct weekly hotel site presentations of the property.
  • Organize sales calls in assigned territories.
  • Maintain the Delphi database with up-to-date information.
  • Create and implement strategic prospecting and sales action plans.
  • Actively participate in projects and meetings to achieve sales goals.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct outside sales calls and deliver polished presentations to current and prospective clients.
  • Attend hotel and industry-related functions and tradeshows.
  • Entertain potential and existing clients to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Plan and operate hotel “FAMiliarization visits” for third-party meeting planners and end-user groups.
  • Participate in yearly budget and marketing planning.

Requirements

  • Experience in direct sales and/or account management.
  • At least 2 years of previous experience managing and/or coordinating the sales process for a luxury property.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Delphi database system.
  • Experience in the luxury hotel or hospitality industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or account management for a luxury property.
